A once-in-a-million-years event happens TODAY when the green comet C/2022 E3 ZTF reaches its closest point to planet Earth!

This comet hasn’t been seen in 50,000 years and won’t be seen again for another epoch, because of shifts in its orbit to and from the Oort Cloud. Neanderthals were still walking the Earth the last time it passed!

C/2022 E3 ZFT will be most visible to the naked eye today on Feb. 1, and tomorrow in the early hours of the morning.
